Building Fences and Tearing Down Walls

July 1, 2016

In June members of Tyrian Lodge No.333 donated a weekend and lots of sweat to build a privacy fence in the backyard of the latest foster home being established by the James Project. With already donated materials the Tyrian members took to removing an old ninety six foot long chain link fence and replacing it with a six foot high wooden picket privacy fence.

Brother Greg Ellerman, found this opportunity for the lodge to contribute and to fulfil its ongoing duty to helping better the lives of orphans and coordinated the work effort.
Although dedicated to supporting our own Masonic Children's Homes in La Grange and Murphysboro this gave Tyrian an added opportunity to help in the Springfield community.
While many members helped over the three day period, Brothers Greg Ellerman, Robert Chase, James Carter, Brian Giddings, Paul Wiseman, Darrell Gruenefeld and Harry Best were most instrumental in getting the project completed.

The James Project is dedicated to care for displaced children in our community by assisting foster parents to create secure and loving homes for all children in need. The James Project recruits and supports quality foster parents through the provision of homes and services. They currently have three foster homes, these homes are owned and maintained by The James Project and are leased to fostering families for a nominal cost.

The James Project’s mission is a mission shared by Freemasons everywhere and Tyrian looks forward to other opportunities to help fulfill that mission. To find out more about the James Project and ways that your lodge could help visit their website at www.thejamesproject127.com
